What’s the Rating System?
We have 2 rating systems. The Enjoy-O-Meter is the overall rating of the book. The Temperature Gauge rates the sexual explicitness of the book.

The Enjoy-O-Meter rates the reviewer’s enjoyment from 1-5.
1 means they did not like it at all. 5 means it’s in the top ten books they will read this year. This means that only 10 books a year should get a 5 rating from each reviewer. Do not be afraid of 4s. 3 is average. If a book is average, it will have an average rating.

The Temperature Gauge rates sexual explicitness: “No Explicit Sex” “Warm” “Hot” & “Boiling Over.”
Use of words you wouldn’t use in front of your mother raises the rating. Sexual practices such as BDSM and multiple partners almost always warrants “Boiling Over.”  Remember: explicitness of the sexual content is rated, not the reviewer’s level of arousal.
