Broken Ties by Amelia Elias

After meeting with the vampire Master, Helene is disappointed when their meeting ends; especially after recapping how her Sire ridicules him, hoping to incite the vampire into action, including granting her protection inside his clan. Instead, he sends her to a chamber to await her demise. Helene lets pass telling Gregori that she is more then just a werewolf, since being changed into something far greater.

A merciless Master, Gregori is dubious about Helene’s story. Yet, she has provided him a means to avenge his former mate’s betrayal. Nora, now Master of Helene’s clan, bonded then left him and to make matters worse she survives his anger, forever a constant painful reminder. Outside of that, he’s amused by Helene’s show of bravery, questioning his authority without fear, even willing to give herself to him in exchange for sanctuary. Two days later, Gregori enters Helene’s chamber only to encounter a beast that equals his superiority.

Readers will enjoy Broken Ties brisk story, heavily laden with sexual tension that heads toward an appealing earthy coupling. Ms. Elias’ characters are strong, virile (even the women), pushing the suspenseful paranormal plot that brings forth an edgy, just touching on BDSM quality.

Helene is not a woman to trifle with as Gregori miscalculates her strength and resolve. Denied a second time to join his clan, she escapes through a bulletproof glass window. On the run, both meet in the city’s gated park where their rushing adrenalin feeds the growing sexual hunger, causing an aggressive, dominating mating that is hot! Gregori knows emotional pain, especially after his mate, Nora’s betrayal. In Helene’s company, his hidden feelings are uncovered, softening as she matches his wit, strength and dominance, all the while tempting his desires. Broken Ties is a captivating and gratifying quick read.
