Amanda is an Assistant DA working her way up to becoming the DA when her boss retires. She’s been instructed to groom one of the other lawyers to be able to take her spot when she moves up the ladder. But it’s not just any lawyer she has to train, it’s Cole. The young, sexy Cole. How is she supposed to concentrate on work when she can’t keep her mind off of him and her libido? To make matters worse, one of the men she convicted ten years ago is getting out on parole and he’s dying to get even with her.

Cole has been attracted to Amanda for a while, so when he sees an opportunity arise, he’s not a fool and he jumps at the chance. Can he keep his secret from her and protect her at the same time? And how will Amanda react when she finds out the truth about Cole?

This was a great read! Perhaps a bit predictable, but wonderful all the same. One will be drawn into the characters and their emotions. It was wonderful to see Amanda grow and accept her feelings and desires. Cole is a tough one to figure out, but the clues in the story tell you just enough to make one guess what his background is and what to read on to know definitively what his deal is. With a nice little surprise at the end, this is a story definitely worth reading.
