One Night by Aline de Chevigny

Tabetha Chartrand is trying to forget it’s supposed to be her wedding day. A one night stand with the extremely sexy Darren Cartier seems like the perfect diversion. The infamous ladies’ man is exactly what she needs to feel alive and desired again, but she won’t be treated like just one more conquest.

Darren has never had so much trouble getting a woman into his bed. Problem is, once he finally gets Tabetha there, he realizes he never wants her to leave.

For Tabetha and Darren, falling in love takes them like a force of nature, but the only road to happily ever after is over and around constant obstacles like exes, assumptions, and personal history. This story follows the couple from the night they meet and passions ignite, over the next forty-eight hours until both finally surrender to the fact that the other is their destiny.
Darren and Tabetha have great chemistry and passion. From their fights to their love making, it’s a rollercoaster ride of emotion. Darren’s possessive/protective streak and the way he wins Tabetha over from her fear of rejection and her doubt, in both him and her ability to have a relationship, one battle at a time, touches the heart.

The scenes with Darren and his other girlfriends are fun and well written and secondary characters of best friends Mike and Kathy are also very likable and three dimensional. Parts of the story do feel a bit unnecessary and the action does slow in spots. This would have been a much stronger story if it had been shorter in length. However, on the whole, the story is sweet and endearing. The characters are likable and you can’t help but feel what they are going through because the author is very conscientious to show their struggles and pain as well as their passions. One Night is available from Forbidden Publications.
