Python Place 2: Hot and Bothered by Kate Hill

Pier is a strong woman who values her independence. She is also a daemon who needs to feed off the sex energy of her partners. This is not a problem since she is the owner of a pleasure house in London. How unfortunate that the mortal men she has met bore her so.

Python Place is a brothel of repute owned by the three Terence brothers. It has been their answer to surviving without turning towards evil. They too are daemon and if deprived of their sustenance would turn extremely violent and then decline permanently into the private hell of being in a vegetative state.

Dimitri is the middle brother and is as vigilant against their evil mother Eris as his siblings in her attempts to lure them towards her darker, crueler side. He unexpectedly finds love with a seemingly unsuitable female. For all of their initial reluctance each completes the other.

But Mommy dearest has plans for her boy, and hopes he will play right into her hands.

Ms Hill has a fine way with interesting sexy characters and fiery love scenes. It is amusing to see the hero and heroine meet and watch the fur fly. They are quick to reach an understanding though and we are cheerfully brought along for the ride.

Readers may find the first half of the book to be stronger and the latter half to be less developed. One gets the impression that the story would have improved had there simply been enough pages to bring the ending about more smoothly.

If this is your first entry into Python Place, you will likely enjoy the brothers and their seductive ways nevertheless. Do not be surprised if you feel compelled to also read Python Place 1: Pleasure and Pain and Python Place 3: Rose and Thorn.
