Hot Flash - Mastered by Willa Okati

It’s only been a year since Sean was turned by the vampire master, Kane.  He’s anxious to spread his wings, have a home of his own without the controling ways of Kane.  He just has to convinve Kane to let him go, maybe allow him to take a few of the female vampires too.  Besides, he really has a much better plan for living in the world as a vampire.  Kane is overly cautious, uprooting them every few days.  Why kill all the servants, when you can easily keep them alive, under your control and have your servants meet your whims?

Kane is busy feasting on a maid when Sean comes to ask for his freedom from Kane’s group.  Expecting a confrontation, Sean is surprised at Kane’s amiable manner toward his announcement to leave.  When Kean asks Sean to stay for a drink, Sean learns some amazing things about himself that alter his thinking about a vampire’s life.

This story could have been so much more. Kane’s relationship with Sean is all about power and control not about caring and nurturing a young vampire.  Kane manipulates Sean into haveing sex with him.  The sex itself was confusing and lacked a clear choreography.  With a hero who has an attitude problem to a master that controls “life” around him in such a way so as to not ever lose, this male/male story has little in the way of honor or a happy ending and indeed is rather depressing.
