Norse prince, Ivar, is a man grieving over the loss of his wife and child. After proposing a rash decision to his father, he is dissuaded and leaves for a voyage to find his own kingdom. Upon arriving, he meets Katie, a woman he is immediately enamored with. Can the Celtic Katie forget the fact that Ivar is a Norseman, a race of people thought to be horribly violent pillagers, and save him from the pain of his loss?
Katie is due to marry Carl, the atrocious and brutal leader of her village. But when Ivar and his men take over the village and “dethrone” Carl, what will happen to Katie? Will the handsome Norseman win her adoration or will she still be forced to marry Carl?
While the storyline was a good idea, the story could have been shorter and still had the same effect and covered all of the ideas the author wished to convey. The publisher could have done a much better job with the editing and proofreading aspect of the story. There were many grammar mistakes and several missing punctuation marks as well. Had the editorial staff caught these and edited the content of the story further, this could have been a delightful read.
