Toss of a Coin by Aline de Chevigny

Angelica Richmond receives a curious inheritance upon her grandmother’s passing. Arrangements have been made for her to take her long-standing dream vacation of visiting Scotland. There is also a mysterious box passed to her which must remain unopened until she arrives at her destination.

When she opens the box she discovers an old silver coin accompanied by a letter from Gram. In it she instructs Angelica to make her most heartfelt wish and pass the coin on appropriately.

She makes her wish upon the spot and awakens in bed next to a handsome and naked man from times past. Is this only a dream or a dream come true?

Duncan MacHenry, the Duke of Argyle is a gratifyingly eager lover and a sexy sweet hero. One would have enjoyed learning more about him.

Our heroine is likeable and not easily cowed. Angelica adjusts to her situation rather more quickly than is convincing but she is a good match for her Duke.

There are allusions to possible difficulties for the future of the romance which look like plot threads but are never explored. The feeling of the story while romantic and nicely heated is also a bit underdeveloped. One imagines this is due to the limited length.

This is a fairly straightforward though charming story of finding love at the Toss of a Coin. Readers wanting a smile and some heat in a quick bite need look no further.
