We like folks who tell it like it is.

Promo Ho does just that:

You’ve just sold your first eBook. Congratulations! Um, hate to slap you with the wet fish of reality, but do you know who your marketing team will be for this book? That’s right, it’s YOU, boss! Count on your publisher to hand you a contract and a snazzy bookcover, and after that, it’s all you. I’m an eBook author myself, and I’m here to help you navigate through the terrifying world of internet self-promotion.

Author Sonja Foust has a darn cool web site. Most eBook writers think all they have to do is write. Often they are scared to promote, thinking they are being too forward. Sonja sets them straight and then gives them the tools to get started.

Sonja has teamed up with Karen Duvall to provide an article on schwag. Here’s a set of articles on Getting Started with Romance eBook Promotion .

She also has a great article about getting your book reviewed. Read it and then submit your book to the hungry romance reviewers at Romantic Observer. We’re too new to have a Google rating yet, but you watch out, we’re gonna be big.

While you’re at it, register and post some promo and your excerpts here at Romantic Observer. It’s free, it’s easy and it’s a quick way to get links to your web site, blog and books out on the web. Need a little help? Thunder’s email address can be found here.

Did I mention we’re gonna be big?

Update: Karen Duvall had this to add about reviews:

“I recommend you read a few reviews written by the reviewer before offering up your book (perhaps as a sacrificial lamb). You want to be sure the reviewer is both honest and polite, and appears to have actually read the book. It’s very exciting to read a review of your book where the reviewer really gets it and refers to your characters like they’re real people. That’s what you hope for in every review…”
